Hike to Big Timber Falls

6D8B8513 (683x1024)Directions: From Big Timber, travel north on US 191 – 11 miles to the well-marked access to Big Timber Canyon Road via Wormser Road. Follow the road to its end at the Halfmoon Picnic Area and Campground.

Travel Time: 2.5 hours from Townsend WARNING: ROUGH ROAD LAST 2 MILES

  1. Hiking boots
  2. Camera
  3. Lunch
  4. Bear Spray

Trip Extras: 

  1. Hike to Blue, Thunder, Granite, Twin Lakes, Cascade or Pear Lakes
  2. Fish the Lakes
  3. Camp at the Halfmoon Campground

This hike is a beautiful sidetrack on the hike to any of the lakes on the Big Timber Creek Trail. Only a quarter of a mile detour,  the falls are an awesome way to start or finish your hike. Be sure to check them out.
